Hello! Welcome to the first ever Wondering Whisk’s blog here at the University of Louisville. This is Emily, the current nutrition navigator, talking to you today about what you can expect from reading these weekly blog posts, helpful resources and services offered at UofL, and what being a nutrition navigator is all about.


What to expect from reading Wondering Whisk?

When reading Wondering Whisk’s bi-weekly posts, you can expect to learn about different resources and services offered at the University of Louisville and in the Louisville community regarding nutrition, common nutrition topics relevant to college students, helpful tips to guide you and your friends through eating in college, and so much more! These blog posts are geared towards YOU, therefore, if you have topics you want to hear about, then feel free to comment them down below!

Services that the Food, Nutrition, & Cooking branch of Health Promotion offer here at the University of Louisville are:

- Cooking Workshops at Phoenix House: learn how to prepare meals using student-friendly recipes

- Mobile Teaching Kitchen: learn how to cook an affordable, nutrient dense meal in convenient location in the SAC or East side of campus.

- UofL SMART Plate: represents ways to balance your plate while emphasizing nutrient dense foods and minimizing the emphasis on calorically dense foods

- UofL Dining Vegan & Vegetarian Guide: identifies nutrient dense vegan and vegetarian options that make a balanced diet

Responsibilities

As a nutrition navigator, I am responsible for providing UofL students with food and nutrition education and advice onsite in the Ville Grill and via personal appointments. Do you have more concerns that require a more professional perspective? Meet with our campus dietitian, Ethan, and receive individual nutrition coaching.
